Fresh off a huge road win…

Kentucky is coming off a fantastic road victory against Auburn, and on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. EST, it will travel to Baton Rouge to play the LSU Tigers, another club coming off a strong road victory.

LSU defeated No. 11 South Carolina in Columbia to start the season with a 13–12 record overall and a 5-7 record in the SEC. The Tigers’ two conference victories from the previous season have already been topped with five wins.

In SEC play thus far, LSU has defeated Texas A&M and South Carolina on the road and defeated Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Arkansas at home. It has fallen at home against Texas A&M and Alabama and lost on the road against Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.

The Tigers have won at home against Mississippi Valley State, North Florida, Southeastern Louisiana, Alabama State, Lamar, and Northwestern State in non-conference play. They have also triumphed at neutral sites against North Texas and Wake Forest. It lost at home against Kansas State and Nicholls State, at neutral sites against Dayton and Texas, and on the road at Syracuse.

Matt McMahon, who lead Murray State to three NCAA Tournaments before taking over as head coach of LSU beginning of the 2022–2023 season, is the coach of the Tigers.

KY has a record of 93-28 all-time against LSU and defeated the Tigers 74-71 in Rupp Arena in the previous season. But after losing 65–60 in its most recent trip to Baton Rouge in 2020, UK has not triumphed inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Players to Watch

Jordan Wright: A 6-foot-6 transfer guard from Vanderbilt, Wright leads the Tigers in scoring, rebounds, assists, and steals per game. He averages 15.0 points per game. He shoots 33.9 percent from three-point range and 38.8 percent from the field. Wright has averaged 11.6 points per game and scored more over 20 points twice in his ten appearances with the Commodores versus Kentucky.

Will Baker: The 7-foot forward Baker, a transfer from Nevada, is scoring 12.2 points a night and pulling down 5.0 rebounds for the Tigers. He shoots 37.5 percent from three-point range and 52.9 percent from the field..

Jalen Cook: The main point guard for the Tigers, Cook, has missed the previous two games due to a hamstring ailment, but when healthy, he plays a significant role. He leads the squad in scoring with 15.6 points per game on average, along with 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and shooting 32.5 percent from three-point range and 41.3 percent from the field.
