Great news for Auburn Tigers

Students flocked to the city for days in anticipation of College Game Day, but the Auburn Tigers were unable to secure a victory against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Although Auburn was receiving favorable looks, the open shots were not dropping. While Auburn shot 22 threes, some would have preferred to see greater utilization of Jaylin Williams and Johni Broome down low.

Although Williams’ injury in this game was severe, it appears that the seasoned player will return to the court at some point this season.

With a 9-4 record in SEC play thus far, Auburn will try to secure a double bye by finishing in the top four of the SEC Tournament. If Williams is out of the lineup, it will be difficult to put together a winning streak.

Now let’s see how ESPN projects Auburn to wrap up SEC play.

@Georgia: Predicted Win- 82.2% chance to win

@Tennessee: Predicted Loss- 33.5% chance to win

Mississippi State: Predicted Win- 86.5% chance to win

@Missouri: Predicted Win- 90% chance to win

Georgia: Predicted Win- 93.8% chance to win

ESPN predicts that the Auburn Tigers will end SEC play with a 13-5 record. Auburn has a very good chance of earning a double-bye and a top-four seed in the SEC Tournament if they carry out this strategy.

Gaining this double-bye will significantly improve Auburn’s chances of emerging victorious in the SEC Tournament Championship. As Williams recovers from his injury, this team remains strong.
