Bad news for stoke

It might be because Mark Robins has more experience than most of the other managers in the Championship have combined but, in just three minutes at the weekend, he whittled through five salient points about Stoke City.

Robins had just overseen a 1-0 win for Coventry at the bet365 Stadium, their ninth win in their last 13 visits to the Potteries, and although this one had various distinguishing factors the underlying approach was the same: stay patient, wait for a mistake and take advantage. Personally, he has gone up against Stoke on 10 occasions as a manager, winning five and drawing three of the nine as Coventry boss since a 2-1 FA Cup win for his then League Two side proved the final nail in Mark Hughes’s coffin back in January 2018.
