Dwight Gayle has signed for Derby County until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old forward will link up with his new teammates for training on Tuesday, less than three weeks after his exit from Stoke City. Gayle completed the formalities of his move to Derby last Friday when he underwent a medical at the club’s Moor Farm training base as well as agreeing personal terms following talks with head coach Paul Warne.
The paperwork was completed in the hope he would be available for Saturday’s win over Stevenage but the club had to wait for the EFL did not ratify the deal. The green light came on Monday evening.
