Everton set to earn high despite…

Garner was acquired by Everton from Manchester United for a figure estimated to be close to £15 million in the summer of 2022 after two fruitful loan stints at Nottingham Forest. Under manager Sean Dyche, he has subsequently established himself as a first-team regular.

In all competitions, the 22-year-old has made 48 appearances for the Toffees, with 33 starts in 34 games this season.

Garner’s contract at Goodison Park runs through June 2026, although Everton’s well-documented financial woes may force the team to sell a few first-team players before the start of the next campaign.

According to a recent source, Garner has being considered by Tottenham as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher of Chelsea. A move to Newcastle has also been discussed.

Everton would be eager to benefit from Garner should they decide to sell the midfield player, who they believe is worth between £20 and £25 million, according to Football Insider.

According to the source, Garner “ticks a lot of boxes” for both Tottenham and Newcastle, two teams rumored to be looking to bolster their midfields, and the Toffees are expecting summer offers for him.

It is also believed that if Dyche’s team gets demoted to the Championship, it will be difficult for them to hold onto the box-to-box midfield player.

Everton, who were docked ten points earlier in the Premier League season due to suspected financial irregularities, are currently ranked 17th and are only slightly above the bottom three on goal differential.

Whether the Toffees can hold onto their elite status for the 2024–25 season may determine their capacity to demand a desired amount for Garner.

Manager Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham already has a wide range of alternatives in the midfield, including Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, and Pascal Matar Sarr, all of whom have made frequent appearances this season.

However, after falling down the hierarchy, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been heavily linked to leaving North London, while both Oliver Skipp and Giovani Lo Celso have had difficulty getting consistent playing time this season.

In terms of Newcastle, Eddie Howe was eager to bolster his team during the January transfer window by adding a new midfield player, but the club’s financial situation kept them from being able to afford the players they wanted.

This season, the Magpies have mostly used Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff, and Lewis Miley in midfield. However, the latter two are expected to depart this summer as the team looks to balance its budget by selling some of its key players.

For a large portion of the season, Newcastle has been without the injury-plagued Joe Willock, but in August, summer signing Sandro Tonali will be eligible to return from a 10-month betting ban.
