He is bad news for San Antonio Spurs

Lakers star LeBron James, who missed Los Angeles’ defeat against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday in San Francisco, probably will be back in action for a Friday home game against the San Antonio Spurs.

With James nursing a sore left ankle, the Lakers fell 128-110 to the Warriors. Los Angeles coach Darvin Ham said Thursday night of James, “We’ll get an official word (Friday) morning and see, but in all likelihood, he should be out there (Friday night).

” James appeared in the All-Star Game at Indianapolis on Sunday. He scored eight points in 14 minutes during the first half before sitting out the second half of the Western Conference’s 211-186 loss to the Eastern Conference.

He also sat out the Lakers’ last game before the break, a 138-122 victory over the Utah Jazz on Feb. 14 in Salt Lake City.

James, 39, has played in 49 of the Lakers’ 57 games this season, averaging 24.8 points, 7.8 assists and 7.2 rebounds per game. He has 16 double-doubles and three triple-doubles.

The All-Star appearance was the 20th for James, a four-time NBA champion and four-time league Most Valuable Player. He is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 39,868 points.
