According to HITC, Ipswich Town, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, and Sheffield United are all keeping tabs on Manchester United’s Will Fish.
Manchester United have not only witnessed several of their academy prospects become regulars in the Championship but also observed some of their coaches transition to managerial roles in the EFL, with Kieran McKenna and Michael Carrick now at the helm of Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough, respectively.
Both managers, particularly McKenna, have leveraged their ties to Old Trafford to bring in new talent, with the Ipswich Town boss currently including Red Devils’ youngster Brandon Williams in his squad.
However, it’s now reported that there’s another Manchester United prospect catching the interest of both managers. According to HITC, Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough are among the clubs interested in centre-back Will Fish, who is currently on loan with Hibernian in Scotland. But with the likes of Sheffield United also sniffing around it appears Fish has several options to look at this summer.
This report has emerged interestingly around the same time longstanding Blades defender John Egan’s future has been cast into doubt.
After experiencing recent success in Scotland, Fish is poised for a step up. Currently in his second spell at Easter Road, he has been a consistent presence at the back, featuring in all but one game across all competitions this season.
With 35 appearances this season, the 21-year-old has amassed a total of 56 outings for Hibs. His primary focus remains on securing regular playing time, whether through a permanent or temporary transfer. Wherever Fish ends up next, he’ll be aiming to maintain the same level of consistent game time he has enjoyed throughout the 2023/24 campaign.
