Seattle Kraken forward Brandon Tanev faced another setback in Friday night’s game against the Vancouver CanucksĀ , who sustained a lower-body injury and left the game. Tanev was clearly frightened after taking a clean, hard blow from Nils Hoglander before to the incident. The 31-year-old forward skated for just 3 minutes and 37 seconds before departing the game. He missed 14 games earlier in the season because of a similar lower-body injury.
Tanev’s history of injuries makes one wonder about his general well-being and suitability for the Kraken. With just two goals in eight games this season, his on-ice contributions have been limited, and the squad will definitely miss his presence.
It’s unclear how serious Tanev’s current ailment is and whether it has anything to do with his earlier injury. A status update about his condition prior to Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks will be anxiously anticipated by both the club and the fans.
