Luke Metcalf is now in the driver’s seat to partner the seasoned player in the halves when the new season begins next month, thanks to a month of covering for Shaun Johnson during training.
Following up his strong performance in the Warriors’ 34-22 victory over the Dolphins in the Pre-Season Challenge final round, Metcalf told NRL.com that he now views playing five-eighth differently after taking on the role of dominant playmaker while Johnson dealt with an ankle injury early in the season.
