Christian Horner poised to learn F1 fate

The charges against Horner have cast a shadow since they were made public earlier this month.

The 50-year-old went to a long discussion with an impartial arbiter, a King’s Counsel who was reportedly chosen by Horner, the person in charge of the proceedings.

It has taken some time, but the conclusion of the meeting is thought to have produced over 100 pages of testimony and evidence.

Horner has stayed in his role and insisted on his innocence throughout the probe.

Horner made an appearance at Red Bull Racing’s season opening and was present at preseason testing last week. On Day 2 of the three days of competition, he was set to address the media.

Sources have suggested that a resolution to the matter is expected this week and potentially as early as today.

However, it’s not expected to be communicated to the media immediately.

Red Bull GmbH will make any decisions on Horner’s future; Red Bull Racing, which has remained mostly out of the situation thus far, will not be involved in any decisions.

He claimed that although it was a diversion, everything else for the all-conquering mission had continued as usual.

That’s even though a number of other team managers have also made statements on the subject, along with the FIA and Formula 1 Management.

The Englishman looked obviously worn out when he spoke to the media during testing, indicating that it had taken a toll.

There, he fielded inquiries about the subject by saying that it would not be proper to remark because the process was still ongoing.

There is disagreement in the paddock about whether the result will result in the seasoned team principal losing his job.

Having taken over the Milton Keynes business when Red Bull joined the market as a manufacturer in 2005, Horner has been the longest-serving team manager in the sport.

During that period, he has brought home six constructors’ titles and seven drivers’ titles, including four for Max Verstappen and three for Sebastian Vettel.

It distinguishes him as one of the most prosperous team managers in Formula One history.

Cars will take to the track on Thursday to kick off the 2024 Formula One season, but teams will be present at the Bahrain International Circuit tomorrow for the customary pre-event media day.
