The 3 Ipswich Town players who may not play for the club again

Ipswich Town are in an electrifying battle for automatic promotion having excelled since promotion from League One under Kieran McKenna.

After winning their last four games, Ipswich Town is now tied for second position with Leeds United. Of course, finishing in the top two will be the primary goal, but they’ll also probably be keeping an eye on their plans for the approaching summer transfer market.

Regardless of the division they are in, the Tractor boys will probably see a number of players leave the team at the end of the season; some of them may have already played their final game as members of the team.

In light of that, we examine three players who could fit that description.

Idris El-Mizouni

As he moves on from Portman Road, El-Mizouni is currently on his second loan with Leyton Orient. This summer, he has a 12-month option to extend his contract; nevertheless, even in that case, he might take advantage of the opportunity to profit before his contract expires.

The midfield player might want to seize the opportunity if it presents itself to leave on a permanent basis once his current loan expires.

Sone Aluko

Aluko has only played in seven games this season, and that one game was a two-minute cameo in league action. Even with his little playing time, he is still a significant player off the field.

The 35-year-old winger from Nigeria joined the Tractor Boys in 2021 and played a major role in the team’s inaugural campaign. However, since then, he has seen his playing time decrease to the point where he only makes four matchday squads in the Championship this year. His contract expires this summer, so it’s possible that we won’t see him play for Ipswich Town again.

Dominic Ball

At the beginning of the previous season, Ball signed a free agent contract with Ipswich Town, but things there haven’t gone quite as expected.

Just 19 games across all competitions were played by the 28-year-old in the previous season, and he has only participated in 14 games so far this year. With Ipswich currently lying third in the Championship table, Ball, who is also scheduled to expire at the end of June, has not been named in any of the last six matchday squads and is not anticipated to be called up at this late point of the season.
