If Taylor Swift accepts the NFL’s offer to participate in the Super Bowl halftime show, she could bring in more than $1 billion for the league—but she wouldn’t receive any compensation for the spectacle.
She reportedly declined a comparable opportunity to play during Super Bowl LVIII, where her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs ultimately defeated the San Francisco 49ers. But the NFL is eager to have her join them the following season.
Swift, 34, opted to watch the Chiefs win 25-22 in overtime while spending quality time with her loved ones from an executive suite. Swift wanted to enjoy the match rather than be a part of the performance; she had just returned from her “Eras Tour” stop in Japan.
The NFL is reportedly actively discussing getting Swift to play at the upcoming Super Bowl in New Orleans, according to The US Sun. Considering that the previous Super Bowl advertisements cost a whopping $7. 5 million, the performance might increase the cost of Super Bowl advertising by an additional $1 million.
“It’s estimated that she brought in between $700 and 750 million this year alone because to her presence. It is anticipated to bring in more than $1.3–1.5 billion if she headlines the halftime show the following year, an anonymous source informed The US Sun.
Swift won’t receive payment if she decides to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, though. Performers are not compensated for their performances, per league regulations, but the NFL pays for all production and travel expenses.
