Sky Bet and Norris to repay fans with pasties this Saturday

This Saturday at Home Park Stadium, former Argyle player David Norris will distribute 1,330 Cornish Pasties to supporters as a token of appreciation for their kind donation of £6,000.

After experiencing unanticipated financial troubles, Norris, who was an Argyle player from 2002 to 2008, was on the verge of having to auction off the League One winners medal he won in 2003–04.

After viewing the former midfielder’s message on social media, the football community, led by Pilgrims supporters, quickly came together to aid, and they gave £6,000 for Norris on the JustGiving website.

In collaboration with Sky Bet and Argyle, Norris will distribute pasties and hot snacks valued at £6,000 during this weekend’s matchup against Ipswich Town, another team that he used to play for. As part of its new #ForTheFans campaign, which aims to highlight modern football fans and fan culture while improving their matchday experience, Sky Bet will assist in implementing the incentive plan.

David Norris stated: “It’s amazing how much support the football community, both in Plymouth and Ipswich, has given me after I found myself in an extremely trying circumstance in my personal life. They have showed me so much compassion and generosity, so I’m thrilled to be able to thank them this weekend and help give back to them with support from Sky Bet.

“We want to celebrate all the best parts of football fan culture in the UK, and the Plymouth fans’ commitment to their former player really stood out,” stated Leigh Peacock-Goodwin, Head of Brand and Sponsorship at Sky Bet. We’re honored to assist David in expressing gratitude in this way to them.”

The Argyle Head of Marketing and Communications, Jamie Yabsley, continued, saying, “It is evident how committed our fans are to the team and its players, both past and present. They exemplified the club’s spirit by being there for David during his difficult time, and we are happy to be rewarding them and recognizing their kindness in partnership with Sky Bet.

The free food vouchers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to the first fans through the turnstiles at each of the four stands at Home Park Stadium on Saturday starting at 1:30 pm GMT. As a token of appreciation from David Norris, Plymouth supporters and the greater football community will receive 1,330 complimentary snacks.
