The 17-year-old center forward was developed at Sunderland’s academy and made an impact for the Black Cats’ Under-18 team last year.
Cotcher declined to accept a new contract with Sunderland after his previous one expired in the summer of last year.
Numerous teams have expressed interest in the young player, including Scottish powerhouse Rangers.
Cotcher has tried out for Premier League teams Manchester United and Arsenal, although he hasn’t signed with a team yet.
In an attempt to win over the Championship team, the young talent is currently on trial at Leeds.
Cotcher played for Leeds Under-18 against Sunderland over the weekend, and he scored the game’s lone goal to lead the Whites to victory.
Leeds has not yet made a decision about the Rangers target’s stay at Elland Road, therefore it is unclear if they will make Cotcher an offer.
