Before their trip to Lincoln, Shrewsbury Town is expected to make a last-minute call over injured striker Dan Udoh.
Illness kept Udoh from participating in Saturday’s 3-2 triumph over Reading at Select Car Leasing Stadium.
However, Paul Hurst revealed the forward has visited the training facility today and is still not quite right before Town’s trip to Sincil Bank.
“He was present today, but is he fully recovered? We have 24-hour bugs, so it’s a short turnaround, but I don’t think he’s completely moved on from that.
However, he might be available; we’ll give him a call tomorrow to see if he can participate. Though it goes without saying that we would prefer if he did, there is no use in pressuring the matter if he is incorrect.
“We will give that another 24 hours or so before making that call.”
After practicing for the first time last week, Tom Flanagan is getting closer to returning from a long-term knee injury, but Hurst believes he is not yet ready to play.
“Still a bit too soon, but he has had another training session though, and he will do some more work in isolation to try and give him the best chance of being in my thoughts,” he said.
“I could tell him to go on, we can put him on the bench, but that wouldn’t be fair to the player either.
“We want to get in as much work as possible, but he has looked fine in training, and there are no issues.”
Additionally, Aaron Pierre, who had a groin injury in the victory over Reading, will get a scan later this week.
Hurst responded, “Only that he is sore,” when asked how Pierre was doing.
“The scan hasn’t been performed on him yet. However, we anticipate it will happen this week.”
