Celtics Set Another Record, Push Win Streak to 11

Joe Mazzulla, a native of West Virginia, is a basketball player for the Boston Celtics who is winning games at a record-breaking rate. On Sunday night, he contributed to history.

The biggest halftime lead in team history was Boston’s 82-38 advantage over the Golden State Warriors at the half.

The Celtics had the option to use the bench early in the second half, but Mazzulla insisted that his starters play with vigor to put the final touches on a well-rounded game, and they succeeded admirably.

“I believe it’s the group’s cohesion, discipline, and mentality. One of our team’s greatest accomplishments was our 17-10 victory at the beginning of the third quarter. It’s crucial to be in circumstances where you could lose and end up winning by a score of seven, which is why they stayed in the game. The fact that we prevailed in the first quarter of the third quarter was crucial, but that’s all. It simply comes down to maintaining discipline, which includes not making poor shots, not giving up the ball, not giving up on plays, not giving up rebounds, and not attempting to get back in transition. Every player that entered the game tonight, in my opinion, played with a great degree of physicality and detail.”

Boston went on to beat Golden State 140–88, which was their biggest win margin of the year. Additionally, the Celtics have three of the NBA’s top five victories so far this year. With the win, Boston’s winning run now stands at 11 games, and they have an 8.5-game advantage over the Milwaukee Bucks, who are in second place.
