NBA Trade Rumors;Mavericks Trades for Charlotte Hornets forward

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski , the Dallas Mavericks have made forward P.J. Washington of the Charlotte Hornets their top target ahead of Thursday’s 3 p.m. ET NBA trade deadline.

At 7:05 in the most recent edition of The Woj Pod, Wojnarowski stated that although the Mavs “kept pecking away” at Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, “that’s not gonna happen.” Dallas is “pivoting” toward Washington as a result.

It was rumored that the Hornets and Mavericks had already discussed a trade and were planning to speak again.

Even though the Wizards are among the poorest teams in the league, they don’t feel pressure to move Kuzma. Since he is currently in the first year of a four-year, $90 million contract, the front office can discuss this.

“Kuzma’s apparent desire to stay put is believed to be one of the key factors” supporting the developing theory that he’ll remain in the nation’s capital, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Kuzma, who has averaged 19.9 points and 3.8 assists per game since his trade to the Wizards, would be a modest downgrade to Washington. However, the 25-year-old’s ability to spread the floor and aptitude for off-ball play make him a terrific match in Dallas.

Even though Washington’s three-point shooting percentage is a career low of 32.4 percent, he would probably shoot better if he shared the court with Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić.
