“Cut ties with him ASAP” – Struggling Stoke City man tipped for summer exit

Stoke City have had a disappointing season so far, with many of the summer recruits failing to make the impact that they would’ve wanted.

Stoke City’s transfer failings

Hull City is currently ranked sixth on the rankings going into their next Championship matchup.

They are one point ahead of Norwich City and currently hold the final spot in the play-offs.

The Tigers’ last game at Deepdale ended in a 0-0 draw away at Preston North End.

Championship Table (As it stands March 5th)
Team P GD Pts
17 Blackburn Rovers 35 -13 39
18 Millwall 35 -13 39
19 QPR 35 -12 38
20 Birmingham City 34 -14 38
21 Huddersfield Town 35 -15 38
22 Stoke City 35 -14 38
23 Sheffield Wednesday 35 -24 35
24 Rotherham United 35 -37 19

Fans are understandably incensed about how the season is unfolding, and significant decisions have already been taken, such as Alex Neil’s replacement in December.

More recently, the board decided to fire technical director Ricky Martin, who was thought to be the cause of the team’s subpar transfer windows.

Wesley struggles at Stoke City

Striker Wesley is one of the numerous newcomers who has had difficulty leaving his imprint for Stoke on the field.

After departing Aston Villa, the Brazilian inked a one-year deal at the Bet365 Stadium, hoping to provide the team with the muscular presence up top that it had been lacking.

Even though he didn’t impress at Villa, they paid a lot of money to get him from Belgian football to the Premier League, and a devastating knee injury ended his tenure in the Midlands.

So, there was curiosity about how he would perform with the Potters, but the first half of the season hasn’t gone as planned..

Wesley has made 20 appearances in the Championship, but he has not scored in any of them. Additionally, under Schumacher, he has not been included in the team in recent weeks.

It had been suggested that he might think about moving in January due to his lack of significance, and that he could finalize a switch to Turkey.

Wesley ultimately decided against moving, thus he stayed in Staffordshire. However, as his contract expires in the summer, it seems unlikely that he will be back for another season.

Also, steadfast in his belief that an exit is in everyone’s best interests, Stoke fan analyst Ben Rowley spoke to FLW.

Wesley was probably brought in as a backup striker. Wesley was considered a potential target man because we didn’t have one for the previous season. Regretfully, he hasn’t shown any of the qualities we would have expected from a number nine. His play off set-pieces has not been very fruitful, his hold up play has been lacking, and he has not appeared to be a goal threat at all.
