With 13 games remaining, Raith is only one point behind Scottish Championship leaders Dundee United thanks to the efforts of 42-year-old Murray. Murray praised the Belgian coach, who has managed nine successive domestic wins since losing 2-1 at Celtic Park while on league duty on December 30.
The former Hibernian defender told the Fife Free Press, “I don’t think anybody thought Rangers would be top of the league this season, never mind inside that time frame.”
“I think we always kind of assumed this guy was going to come in, put in a new look, and finally succeed.
“As a manager or coach, getting a squad to play the way you want them to is one of the hardest things you can accomplish, but the way he’s implemented it so rapidly is impressive.
“And so effortlessly too, so he truly merits a great deal of praise.
While Celtic are undoubtedly faltering a little, Brendan Rodgers has experience in this situation. He has followed the proceedings a few times, and it appears that the Premier League title race will be exciting, just as our league’s should be.
