Coventry City community legend honoured with top award

SKY BLUES in the Community presented Shaun Pierce with the Premier League’s Community Captain award.

This recognition is a testament to Shaun’s unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to the community over the past 27 years.

Dave Busst, head of Sky Blues in the Community (SBitC), and first-team manager Mark Robins were present to bestow Shaun with the award.

Shaun’s family, integral to his journey, were also in attendance, adding a personal touch to the celebratory occasion.

He started in 1996 as work placement in his school days. Under Shaun’s guidance, the SBitC player development centre expanded to encompass over 35 teams and engage more than 600 players.

A Sky Blues in the Community spokesperson said: “As we celebrate 27 years of Shaun’s remarkable service, we are thankful for his unwavering commitment, selflessness, and passion.

“He is not just a community champion. He is the heartbeat of our charity, a living testament to the transformative power of sports in creating a positive impact.”
