PNE made the decision to stay out of the January transfer window—at least not in terms of new hires.
We didn’t really have any problems with North End keeping things low-key in January following a great summer window.
Not that there were many rumors to begin with, but one player was apparently desired by Deepdale but ended up at Ipswich Town.
The guy in issue is Lewis Travis, who moved on loan to Portman Road in January after leaving Blackburn Rovers.

Despite holding the position of club captain, Travis was informed that he might depart Blackburn.
According to reports, Travis was interested in signing with both PNE and Millwall, but he decided to go to Ipswich.
Travis, a Whiston native and former Liverpool player, would have blended right in at Deepdale given the strong Merseyside influence.
Nevertheless, Travis chose Ipswich, and he has started four league games for the Tractor Boys while also making two substitute appearances.
The 26-year-old is essentially vying for a permanent contract with Suffolk, and he will try to convince Kieran McKenna of this.
In an interview with the East Anglian Daily Times, Travis now acknowledges that in January, he did have other options available to him.
Travis believed that the other movements were “easier,” though, as he most likely would have played every week.
Travis desired the challenge of trying a more “risky” move to get into an Ipswich team that was vying for a promotion.
Travis stated, “I felt like there were teams I could have joined that would have been an easier option, where I would have stepped in and played every single game.” “I knew it would be harder to get in and get games at Ipswich, but the payoff could be enormous.”
“Choosing the simple route in life is pointless. I’m delighted I took the chance since it’s a great opportunity and I’m still young,” he continued.
Travis may be alluding to PNE, although it’s uncertain given the strong competition for midfield spots at North End.
With Ryan Ledson, Alan Browne, Ben Whiteman, and Ali McCann in the mix, Travis would have still had competition to play frequently.
Although Ipswich’s push for promotion may have turned the tide, we hope North End is still monitoring Travis.
A battling midfield player with plenty of Championship experience, Travis may be a name to keep tabs on for the summer window.
