EFL analyst Don Goodman thinks that Jacob Greaves, a defender for Hull City, would be able to move up to the Premier League with Everton.
According to reports, Sean Dyche’s team is considering signing Greaves in the summer to take Jarrad Brathwaite’s spot.
The 23-year-old center back is reportedly of interest to Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.
For Liam Rosenior’s team, who hopes to secure a spot in the play-offs at the end of the campaign, Greaves has been a rock at the back this year.
Goodman gives verdict on Greaves
Goodman has said that he sees Greaves as a defender who suits Everton, but is unsure on how much it would cost the Toffees to prise him away from the Tigers.
He told FLW via King Casino Bonus: “What I would say is compare and contrast Jacob Greaves to Jaden Philogene and Morgan Rogers. When I look at his career, and all though he is only 23, he has played over 200 games, so that to me is the difference.
Particularly the last two seasons, he’s added goals and assists to his game at the other end of the pitch. Obviously, his number one job is defending, but in the last two seasons he’s had six goals and assists in each season, and this season is still going.
“I like him. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s good in the air, he’s aggressive, he’s a ball playing defender and he’s still maturing. When you say Everton, and when I look at him and what he’s capable of and what his best attributes are, I do see a Sean Dyche player.
“Honestly, when I think defenders get promoted to the next level up, whether that be League Two to League One, League One to the Championship, Championship to the Premier League particularly, I think defenders are the ones that find it the hardest to make that jump.
