Jacob Greaves asking price revealed as Hull City get transfer advice on star man

In the event that Hull City does not get promotion to the Premier League this summer, former England midfielder Carlton Palmer thinks it would require a bid of between £15 million and £20 million for the Tigers to consider parting ways with star defender Jacob Greaves.

As two of Liam Rosenior’s best players this season, Greaves and his City teammate Jaden Philogene have generated a lot of speculation in recent weeks regarding their futures.

Greaves, who has participated in 36 of the Tigers’ 37 games this season, will miss the team’s matches over the Easter weekend against Stoke City and Leeds United due to a booking he received in Saturday’s exciting 2-2 draw with Leicester City at the MKM Stadium. This is unfortunate for both Greaves and Rosenior.

In the final weeks of the season, City will naturally expect to gain promotion to the top division, and the talk surrounding the two powerful players will be considerably different. For the time being, though, Palmer thinks the Tigers would only entertain a high offer to let go of one of their most valuable assets.

Palmer told FLW, “He’s under contract until the summer of 2026, so Hull will need to make a big offer to let him go.” The issue, though, is that the player will want to play at a higher level if Hull doesn’t advance to the Premier League—which they won’t do automatically—because they have a possibility of making the playoffs.
