Very happy to bring Radio 1’s Big Weekend to Luton Greg James, the breakfast host, expressed his excitement at the Big Weekend’s arrival in “often overlooked” Luton.
The Brit Award winner Raye will headline the three-day music festival, which will be held at Luton’s Stockwood Park on May 24 and 26.
According to James, it “couldn’t have felt less like festival season” when the event was announced in January.
He continued: “A place like that can often get overlooked for events like this.”
From Football Club’s Kenilworth Road, where the team is presently enjoying its inaugural Premier League season, James delivered the breaking news.
“It didn’t feel real then but it does now and I’m so excited to come to Luton,” added the speaker.
“It’s great that it’s coming to Luton because a place like that, which is quite close to London, can often get overlooked for events like this.”

The festival has traveled to towns and cities like Middlesbrough, Coventry, and Dundee in previous years.
“We like to take it to a place that doesn’t get a big fuss made of it,” the 38-year-old presenter stated.
