‘Best player in the league’

Mikey Johnston, a teammate, has been dubbed the “best player” in the league by West Brom captain Jed Wallace.

West Brom jumped at the chance to get the winger on loan from Celtic during the January transfer window.

Johnston, 24, has scored six goals for the Championship squad in nine games since then.

According to an Express & Star story, Wallace expressed his admiration for the player and stated, “I think he’s the best player in the league right now with the way he’s playing.” “Maybe I should have played you in on one of them,” he genuinely remarked to me following the QPR game. “The way you’re playing, just kick it towards the goal and we’ll go from there,” I responded.

“He’s burning right now.”

West Brom man hailed

West Brom’s move to bring in Johnston earlier this winter has been a brilliant move as they want to make a run at the Premier League.

He has given their offensive unit additional speed and strength, and he has already made an early impact in England by scoring some spectacular goals.

The Republic of Ireland international has spent his whole career with Celtic, but under Brendan Rodgers, he hasn’t played as much for the Hoops this season.

However, he still has a contract with the Glasgow giants, and this summer, he is expected to return to his parent club.

The Scottish Premiership table toppers will have a decision to make regarding the player’s long-term future.

For now though, his focus will be on keeping up his form with West Brom.

Carlos Corberan’s side are doing well at the moment and beat Bristol City 2-0 at home in their last outing before the international break.

The Baggies are sat in 5th place in the table and are eight points inside the play-offs with eight fixtures left to play this term.

Next up for the Midlands outfit is an away trip to Millwall on Good Friday. They then lock horns with Watford at the Hawthorns on Easter Monday.
