According to Nemzeti Sport, Hull City is expected to make their first move of the summer transfer season when they attempt to recruit Hungarian right-back Janos Bodnar.
Bodnar, a right-back who is 18 years old and now a member of Peterborough United’s U-21 team, is reportedly in talks with the Tigers over a free transfer.
Since he was eight years old, the Hungarian U-20 international has been a member of Posh. The young player would probably have to compete hard to get into the first team because club captain Lewis Coyle is probably a better player than him. The defender said that it would be “great” in response to the possible move, according to Hungarian media.
“We are in professional negotiations with Hull City, and the change would be fantastic. Hull City is regarded as one of the top teams in the Championship and has a distinguished past.
He continued, “They told me that they would count on me in the first team and that they would definitely give me the opportunity to prove myself. They also outlined their future plans at the club, and everything was very sympathetic.”
The young player additionally disclosed that he had already undergone a trial at his prospective new team.
I also played a trial game in February, and they told me right away that they wanted to sign me.They also mentioned how they really enjoyed how, even at my young age, it was clear from the start that I was a leader on the field.
The aggressive full-back was also commended by his agent, Georgi Attila, to the national media outlet:
“I was not surprised by Hull City’s interest, since we were keeping a close eye on the English and domestic markets because of Gergő’s judgment. He is good in one-on-one duels, possesses dangerous passes, and attacks with courage and quickness—qualities that are already crucial in today’s football for this position.
“A player with a professional mentality and character, a real leader on the pitch in his club team and in the age-group national team”
If this signing were to materialise, it may provide a question mark over the future of Cyrus Christie, with the defender playing 24 matches this season but now consistently being left out of the squad or finding himself an unused substitute off the bench.
The Yorkshire outfit face Stoke City after the international break, where they will be hoping to climb back into the top six.

This move shows the vision and intelligent investment the Tigers now employ. The difference since Acun’s first transfer window is evident. From his Turkish players spending spree compared to a tactical exploration of youth, talent and loans that have significantly improved the squad.
This would be an intelligent signing, with the club being short on right backs before the Coyle resurgence under Liam Rosenior. Getting a young full back raised in the English game to learn under the club captain for free could pay off and be an incredibly astute signing. It’s low risk, with a potentially high reward.
