Heartbreaking penalty shoot-out for Cymru

The Cymru squad has put out an amazing effort in these play-off games, and The Red Wall acknowledged that as they cheered for their heroes even though they missed their final penalty kick.

Kieffer Moore’s header toward the upper right corner of the goal gave Cymru the finest chance of the game to break the tie. This had been an incredibly tight game, with the stats revealing very little difference between the teams. Wojciech Szczęsny somehow managed to deny Cymru with a fantastic save.

In their 148-year history, Cymru had never participated in a penalty shootout, and their first one ended in defeat when Dan Jame’s attempt from the spot was stopped by Szczęsny.

Cymru will get back up and continue. This youthful group has a unique tale to share.
