Tottenham found Kalvin Phillips-like talent

According to reports, Kalvin Phillips-like talent from Leeds United’s academy is the target of Tottenham Hotspur.

When it comes to young players making an impression at N17 or elsewhere and breaking into the first squad, Spurs have a reasonably solid track record in recent years.

Although Oliver Skipp and Harry Winks, the latter of whom is currently playing brilliantly for Leicester City, have both performed well, Harry Kane was undoubtedly the poster child for Tottenham’s academy.

Spurs have shown promise in the youth system lately, as evidenced by the emergence of players like Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie as regular first-team members at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In the meantime, the Leeds United academy has recently turned forth some outstanding players. Cult hero Phillips from Elland Road moved on to Manchester City, but Archie Gray is currently playing brilliantly for the Whites.

Oliver Pickles, a midfielder for Leeds’ academy, is reportedly being considered by Tottenham after a standout youth campaign with the Championship team.

After leading Leeds to the FA Youth Cup semifinals, the 16-year-old is reportedly drawing praise from Spurs and Newcastle United.

Pickles’ composure under pressure and remarkable passing range have reportedly led to comparisons to Phillips.

Furthermore, Pickles is seen by Leeds insiders to be the next Elland Road prospect to be promoted quickly into the Whites’ starting lineup.

Pickles, who turned 16 in October, has already made 20 appearances for the Leeds Under-18s and is a regular player on the team.

Tottenham has a track record of acquiring elite young players, so in the upcoming months, we’ll see what they can accomplish in this area.
