Sixteen hundred spectators crammed the Halbrooke Stadium to watch a young Forest side play. Zach Abbott, Nadin, Detlef Esapa Osong, and Ateef Konate were among the seasoned B-Team players that began the game.
But Nadin’s performance was what really grabbed attention, and he was a standout performer the entire competition. Konate, Jack Perkins, and Kyle McAdam scored goals for the Forest, setting up a final against Basford.
The Reds are now allowed to enter under-21 teams in the County Cup, along with Notts County and Mansfield. Forest’s goal now is to win the trophy in May and have their name on it.

It’s wonderful to see Nadin back playing well and having fun with the game. He was carted off during the FA Youth Cup semifinal victory against Chelsea back in the 2021–2022 season, and he didn’t play in the championship match against Manchester United.
Nadin had played a key role in that specific run. He had demonstrated exceptional skill throughout the tournaments, scoring in each of the rounds that led up to the semi-final.
In fact, the gifted 19-year-old has volunteered to play in the Premier League 2 for the B-Team this year. He has one goal and six appearances to his belt.
Nadin maintained his composure during the competition. The attacking midfielder proved to be a persistent threat the entire time, leaving the United Counties League opposition clueless as to how to handle him.
Throughout the game, the non-league team did have some opportunities. Former Mansfield Town player Aaron O’Connor got a fantastic opportunity but mispronounced a few words.
Jack Nadin: Who is he?
The adolescent, who usually plays as an offensive midfielder, has a ton of youth team football experience. But he can also play on the left wing or as a striker.
Nadin frequently serves as Forest’s creative spark and is aware of the location of the internet. Nadin received high praise after helping the Forest under-18 team draw a point against Manchester City back in December 2022.
His talent was on full display last night. He displayed excellent ball-playing skills while wearing the number eight shirt, and he was constantly trying to create opportunities for Forest.
Earlier this season, Nadin did get a taste of men’s football. In the opening group game, he came off the bench as the Reds made their debut in the EFL Trophy and lost to Harrogate.
In terms of the future, perhaps Nadin can keep going strong. With Warren Joyce coaching him, he appears to be a highly talented football player, and he could have a good career at Forest.
