Bad News To New Zealand Cricket Team

Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to name an 18-member squad for the series against NZ and the T20 World Cup 2024 squad by April 5

A roster of eighteen players has been selected by the Pakistan cricket team for the forthcoming Twenty20 International series against New Zealand. The selectors will also choose the side before the May 1 deadline for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Ex-skipper Shaheen Afridi is reportedly going to miss a portion of the series against New Zealand. This occurs a few days after the selectors first saw captain Babar Azam, who took Afridi’s place as the white-ball captain, during a training camp in Kakul.

As per Pakistan media publications, the selectors have commenced discussions over the selection with Babar Azam. The announcement is expected to be made by April 5, as they await the final fitness reports of the players training at the Army camp in Kakul.

As per reports, Shaheen Afridi is all set to miss a part of the series against NZ, owing to PCB’s directives related to workload management. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf – who is yet to recover from an injury sustained during PSL – will not be a part of the NZ series and will continue rehabilitation. He is considered to be an integral part of the upcoming campaigns, including the T20 WC.
