The Buffalo Bills are finalizing a trade to send wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. The Texans will get Diggs along with a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick, while the Bills will receive a second-round pick through Minnesota, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The trade comes after Diggs had spent four seasons with the Bills, since he was traded to Buffalo from the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, when the Vikings went on to draft Justin Jefferson. Since the Bills are trading Diggs before June 1, they will take on a $31 million dead money hit next season.
Diggs is a huge addition for the Texans, who are coming off a trip to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs under rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans and rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Diggs has been one of the NFL’s top receivers over the last six years, with six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons and four straight Pro Bowl nods. He also made first-team All-Pro in 2020 after leading the league in receptions and receiving yards.
With Diggs, the Texans are forming a legit receiving trio that also includes wide receivers Tank Dell and Nico Collins. They’ve also brought in former Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon this offseason. The Texans already had a great season a year ago, winning the AFC South division for the first time in four years and recording a 10-7 record. Their offense could get even better now, with prolific young quarterback C.J. Stroud leading the way.
