Less than a year after joining the board, former captain of the Ireland national team William Porterfield has resigned.
The former opening batter was revealed as one of four new directors who would be joining the board in May of last year. Porterfield, who played more than 300 times for his nation, stepped down from his position, it was revealed in recent weeks. 2022 marked Porterfield’s final game for Ireland.
Porterfield was named an assistant coach at English county Lancashire earlier this month.
Cricket Ireland CEO Warren Deutrom stated, “We were very sad to lose Porty, but he just took up a job as assistant coach at Lancashire.” Due to his demanding and demanding work, Porty was unable to provide the

Last season, Porterfield combined his role as an assistant coach at Gloucestershire with his Cricket Ireland board duties.
