Following the discovery of new information, former Wisconsin football coach Greg Scruggs formally resigned from his position coaching the Michigan football team.
Following his arrest for an OWI earlier this month, Scruggs was placed on indefinite suspension. The athletic director declared that Scruggs would not be returning to the Michigan football team after a few weeks of suspension. With each fresh piece of information and proof surrounding his arrest, Scruggs’ prospects of continuing in the program dwindled.
Suddenly, head coach Sherrone Moore announced that Greg Scruggs, the defensive line coach for the Michigan football team, had quit. Only a few weeks ago, Scruggs was brought in from the Wisconsin football staff, replacing his friend and former staff colleague Moore as head coach.
Less than a week ago, Scruggs was arrested in Ann Arbor for driving while intoxicated. Although the coach was immediately banned, there was still a lot of optimism that he would be let to rejoin the team. That doesn’t seem to be the case, though, since Moore said this morning that Scruggs has left the show and declined to comment on his circumstances.
