Bad News For Tamper Bay Buccaneers Coach

In the weeks preceding the 2024 NFL Draft, a deluge of mock drafts appear all over the NFL once the initial waves of free agency conclude. In addition to these mock drafts, some begin speculating on the implications of some of the major decisions already taken for the next season.

Not surprisingly, it’s not good news for the Bucs.

Tampa Bay, who is infamous for being written off, is once more predicted to disappear from the postseason picture. It was because quarterback Derek Carr was signed by the Saints last year. The Falcons, who added Kirk Cousins this season, are already considered the division favorites.

It looks like Bucs general manager Jason Licht will need to make more room in his filing cabinet to keep some new receipts.

CBS Sports Projects Bucs To Miss Playoff Cut In 2024

Writer Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports recently discussed six NFL clubs that he believes won’t make the playoffs the following year. Given the unclear quarterback circumstances and additional considerations, several of Benjamin’s decisions make sense.

Due to Deshaun Watson’s inability to regain his Texans level of play, the Browns’ quarterback situation is quite uncertain.

Once more, the Rams are depending on 36-year-old Matthew Stafford to handle point guard duties. And Aaron Donald called it quits.

The Steelers are a club with a lot of questions on both sides of the ball, even after adding quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

All of these points are understandable, but in rounding out his list he picked the Bucs. After making the playoffs for the past four seasons and bringing back all of the key pieces of a team that made it to the divisional round, his outlook was pessimistic on the team “running it back.”
