Update:Coach tries to leave club for Ohio State

For the past few years, it seemed as though John Calipari’s time was running out.

Around the Saint Peter’s, Oakland, and 9–16 COVID season, supporters and the media started to anticipate Coach Cal coaching somewhere else.

He is currently coaching somewhere else, most likely for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

It seems that Calipari has been considering leaving the Kentucky Wildcats for some time.

According to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports, Calipari wanted to get out of UK as soon as possible in February and was considering the Ohio State vacancy.

I believe it’s realistic to assume Calipari has been interested in leaving for some time given his interest in previous NBA opportunities and his interest in collegiate openings like UCLA in 2019.

Whatever the case, it appears that all parties are relieved that the matter has finally come to a conclusion.

The hunt is now on for Cal’s replacement. For Mitch Barnhart, finding a coach that can win it all and make numerous trips to the Final Four will be a difficult challenge.
