Shurandy Sambo from PSV Eindhoven has been signed by Burnley; the agreement has now been finalized between the involved parties.
Journalist Rik Elfrink claims that the full back will ink a contract with Burnley that lasts until 2028.
Over the past two weeks, reports have suggested that Burnley moved swiftly to recruit Sambo, whose deal with PSV Eindhoven is scheduled to expire this summer.
He began his career in the Dutch junior system and worked his way up the ranks, representing the team at every level and even enjoying a loan stint with Sparta Rotterdam in the 2022–2023 season. He has been with the Dutch team for his entire career.
After returning from that loan period, he was promoted to the PSV Eindhoven first squad in July of last year. He has made 14 appearances for them this season, including three during Champions League qualification.
Burnley appears to have been persuaded by those appearances to move forward, as Elfrink notes that the transaction for him “has now been completed.”
The athlete “considered, weighed, and then decided” to accept Turf Moor’s offer, which included a contract that would expire in 2028, based on his information.
At this time, he provides no other specifics on the deal; but, because the matter has been sealed, we anticipate learning more information soon.
