Great one for Green Bay Packers

Top defensive back prospects like Cooper DeJean and Kool-Aid McKistry are the talk of the town in Green Bay when it comes to selecting them in the NFL Draft. However, the offensive line is another area where the Packers are severely lacking, and it’s likely that they will select a lineman in the first round.

According to Mel Kiper’s most recent mock draft, Amarius Mims of Georgia will become the newest member of the Packer class at position 25. However, that does not imply that they disregard the secondary.

In Round 2, Kiper believes the Packers will select the ideal safety to go along with Xavier McKinney.

According to Kiper, the Packers will use their second-round pick to choose safety Javon Bullard, doubling down on the Georgia Bulldogs. Bullard could come in and start alongside McKinney right away.

I probably don’t have to explain why the fit makes sense to you. Benny Sapp III and Anthony Johnson are not the ideal candidates to fill McKinney’s vacant safety position. Undoubtedly, the Packers’ most pressing need over the offseason was to get two new starters, as was evident right away.

Why Bullard, too? Kiper appreciates his adaptability in terms of positioning and his capacity to defend against both passes and runs. At 58 overall, Buillard would also be a great value.

Bullard is rated as the No. 48 overall player (No. 2 safety) on Pro Football Focus’ big board. He has shown better consistency than Tyler Nubin, the top safety prospect. Bullard has a two-year track record of being excellent in the SEC, but Nubin most likely had a stronger 2023 season.

Athens, Georgia, is arguably the best site to find defenders ready for the pros, and Bullard could join the Pack and have an immediate impact.
