After last weekend, Toronto FC and Charlotte FC should be in better times ahead. They hope to turn their negative experiences from their previous encounters into positives when they play on Saturday night in Charlotte. The Toronto Bluecaps (3-3-1, 10 points) suffered a 4-0 drubbing away from home.
However, Toronto has also had success this season. John Herdman, the coach of Toronto, stated, “We’ll get back.” Although they lost by a narrow margin 1-0 away to New England last weekend, Charlotte (2-3-2, 8 points) had to contend with chilly and rainy weather.
A trend has developed in some of the goals allowed by Toronto. Opponents have taken advantage of set pieces that have resulted in 1-on-1 situations in front of the net. “It has got to get our attention,” Herdman said. “That responsibility (is) to make sure those lines are always set and organized.”
