In the National League North team’s recent 1-0 victory over Peterborough Sports on April 6, the 21-year-old keeper maintained a spotless record.
The Slovenian U-21 international made some excellent saves during his shut-out, but one stop in particular stood out.
On April 7, Farsley uploaded a video on their Twitter feed that appeared to show Leban deftly deflecting what appeared to be a definite Peterborough goal, much to the crowd’s delight.
Since joining the Yorkshire club on loan last summer, he has played in 39 games and has 14 clean sheets.
It’s safe to argue that they could already be relegated if it weren’t for his influence, as they are now in the National League North’s relegation zone based on goal differential.
They have given up 13 goals in the four games this season that the Slovenian has missed, compared to the loanee’s total of 43 goals allowed.
He just has two games remaining to try to keep them from being demoted to the seventh division, although it wouldn’t be his fault if that happened.
If the Toffees do opt to loan him out again, it appears practically a given that he will make the jump to the National League at the very least next season.
They have probably been closely monitoring his progress and are happy with the difference he has made at Farsley this season.
Leban still has a ways to go before he can be considered for a starting position at Goodison Park, but in the coming years, there might be a chance for him to develop into one of the Blues’ backup goalkeepers.
In his first stint away from Merseyside, he’s made good progress, and he intends to keep getting better the following season.
In other Everton news, Pat Nevin shared a “ludicrous” Premier League admission and expressed his outrage over a Toffees development.
