Michael Kay all but accuses Blue Jays of cheating

The world was forever altered on Monday night during a 6-0 win in Toronto when Yankees slugger Aaron Judge flashed his team’s dugout some side eye.

Sadly, a Toronto fan base, players, and manager eager for a rivalry they can call their own promptly labeled him an Astros-level cheater since there’s no space for nuance these days.

The Blue Jays broadcast booth was the first to notice the sidelong stares, and commentators Dan Shulman and Buck Martinez addressed them with the ever-useful disclaimer, “You don’t wanna go throwing allegations around without knowing but.”

Oh, you don’t? You don’t want to do that? Then why did you do exactly that?

Soon after, Judge drilled a cement mixer breaking ball 462 feet to dead center, which only made the muttering louder.

These are the details: During the at-bat, Jay Jackson threw six straight sliders. The signs could have been taken from my house. However, Judge was compelled to explain his reasons for searching the dugout after the game. After Aaron Boone’s tardy dismissal due to low strike umpire misconduct, he swiftly replied that he was attempting to be a captain and keep his teammates in line. He hardly seemed to understand why there was any problem at all.
