Heartbreaking News;Orlando Pirates striker on indefinite suspension

At the conclusion of the 2023–2024 DStv Premiership, seasoned football agent Mike Makaab has indicated that an Orlando Pirates striker may be leaving.

As they look to finish in second place in the league and earn a position in the CAF Champions League for the upcoming season, the Buccaneers have been playing well.

After 24 games, the Pirates have 40 points, which puts them third in the log standings. In the league, they have won 11 games, drawn seven, and lost six. The Soweto giants trail Stellenbosch FC, who are in second place, by three points, while Mamelodi Sundowns are first with 56 points.

Meanwhile, Pirates will face Chippa United in the semi-finals of the 2024 Nedbank Cup, and they are chasing a second silverware of the season. The Ghost won the MTN8 early in the season after beating Sundowns on penalties.

SOUAIBOU MAROU TO LEAVE PIRATES DUE TO LACK OF GAME TIME

With the current season ending in the coming weeks, Pirates will review their squad, and Mike Makaab has confirmed that his client Souaibou Marou will move from the club to get game time.

Marou joined Pirates during the 2023 January transfer window from Cameroonian side Coton Sport. The 23-year-old forward struggled to cement a regular starting berth at Pirates and he’s yet to open his scoring account.

He has managed to feature in four matches in all competitions, with Evidence Makgopa, Zakhele Lepasa, and Tshegofatso Mabasa preferred in the striking position.

“The biggest possibility with Marou is that we will find him a new club at the end of the season because it’s a bit disappointing that he’s not playing,” Makaab told FARPost.

“Orlando Pirates would not have signed him if he wasn’t a good player. Maybe his style of play doesn’t fit the team. I mean, he became the top goal scorer in Cameroon when he came here, and he was the only local-based player for Cameroon at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“Given the opportunity, he might have proven what he does because he’s a prolific striker, so we will look both in the DStv Premiership and on the African continent for his next move.”
