Navy Football Announce Captains For 2024 Season

The official announcement of two seasoned Navy leaders as captains for the 2024–2025 season has been made.

Over the weekend, head coach Brian Newberry declared that seniors Colin Ramos at linebacker and Daba Fofana at fullback will fill those positions.

With 110 tackles the previous season, Ramos led Navy and was chosen for the first team of the AAC. Over the past three years, the New Jersey native has started 32 games for the Midshipmen.

Over the previous two seasons, Fofana has amassed 1,052 yards and nine touchdowns through the air. In a Navy uniform, he has made 13 starts. Over his career, he has averaged 4.2 yards per carry when rushing.

Last season was a rare occasion for Navy where they had four team captains with defensive end Jacob Busic, wide receiver Jayden Umbarger, Lirion Murtezi, and Will Harbour. The Midshipmen finished 5-7 in Newberry’s first season at the helm.

Navy will begin the 2024 season on August 31 when they host FCS Bucknell at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
