Nottingham Forest has made their move

After moving from Brest to Bloomfield Road in August, the former Celtic youth player had a successful stint in Tangerine, contributing 14 assists and nine goals in all competitions. At the Fylde Coast club’s end-of-year awards, he was selected players’ player of the year, young Seasiders player of the year, and supporters’ player of the year for his performances.

Over the past few months, the 21-year-old has been connected to teams including West Ham, Everton, and Nottingham Forest. Portsmouth, the League One winners, are also reportedly considering a move.

According to The News, Dembele, who has a contract with Brest until 2026, is admired by John Mousinho, who believes he might strengthen their attacking options and help lead them back to the Championship.

As said by Blackpool head coach Neil Critchley: “He quite rightly won the players’ and supporters’ player of the season. I think he can go to the very top in football.” He almost has double digits in goals and double digits in assists, and he always puts the opposition to the test. I believe he is a highly exciting talent for the future, especially for his first full season of senior football.

“I believe he can succeed. Naturally, we would prefer to keep him, but in the loan market, you can often become a victim of your own success when it comes to developing young players for other teams.”
