Pat Cummins’ decision on the World Cup final pitch between India and Australia following Kaif’s allegations against Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid

Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia’s One-Day International team, shared his thoughts on the Ahmedabad pitch for the World Cup finals, months after he hoisted the trophy at Narendra Modi Stadium after a thrilling victory over the host nation, India. With the help of his colleagues, Cummins guided Australia to their sixth World title in the 50-over format, quieting the roughly one lakh spectators in the stadium.

In the championship match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was content to bat first as the Australian captain won the toss and chose to bowl first. It was said of the Indian management that they had misread the pitch when the outcome did not work out.

In his assessment of the Ahmedabad pitch, Cummins stated that their analysis showed that it was enjoyable to bat at night once the dew had cleared.

The pitch in Ahmedabad appeared to be quite dry. The dew that was set to arrive, though, was the major concern there. It must spin a little during the day because we felt it could be a touch dry, but once the dew settles in at night, it would be quite pleasant to bat on. Therefore, I took a little chance,” Cummins said to Sportskeeda.

In response to a question on how he and his colleagues celebrated winning the World Cup, Cummins stated that the team got together for the Test team after two weeks, and because the dressing room was in a nice mood, they celebrated the win.

“I believe it’s still becoming clear. We all took off a little bit differently because we all live in various states. To begin with, it was simply getting around with friends and family. It was like a double celebration when my brother got married the day I returned. About two weeks later, when we reunited with the Test team, we were all still beaming and in a good mood. Therefore, Cummins continued, “it seemed like we celebrated the World Cup victory the entire summer.”

Mohammad Kaif, a former cricket player for India, has charged captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid of manipulating the pitch. Kaif stated that the famous pair would make appearances on the field on each of the three days preceding

During my three days there, I performed in numerous shows. Dravid and Rohit Sharma arrived in the evening, went to the pitch, stood for an hour, and then left. On the next day, they returned and carried out the same actions. Over the course of three days, I saw a shift in the pitch’s color. “That was the extent of that change. I wore a blue shirt today, and three days later, it would look yellow,” Kaif said on Guest in the Newsroom on TheLallanTop.
