The 2024 NFL schedule is slowly trickling out ahead of its wider public release on Wednesday night. More and more of the marquee matchups are being announced — for example, we now know that the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers will play the season’s first Monday Night Football game, while the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game.
The Chiefs won that game in January and moved on to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas against the 49ers. That championship bout was an instant classic, and it took a Patrick Mahomes touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman in overtime to seal the deal — and Kansas City‘s second consecutive Super Bowl title. Now, Mahomes and the Chiefs know when the rematch will be during the upcoming regular season.
