Jordan explains why he didn’t chase Wilt Chamberlain’s record

“There are games I know that I’ve scored a lot” – Michael Jordan reflects on not chasing Wilt’s scoring record

Jordan’s goal was to win championships, not individual accolades.

Had he wanted to, Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls in 1987 could have raised his scoring game.

His averages during the 1986-87 season speak for themselves. MJ had the best scoring average of his NBA career, averaging 37.1 points in 82 regular-season games.

Jordan owned a 49.1% shooting clip from the field and was 85.7% from the free throw line. That performance placed him on the list of MVP candidates. He eventually finished second behind Earvin “Magic” Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers.
