Latest update on Burnley Manager search

After Vincent Kompany left last week, Burnley is still looking for a new manager.

The Clarets’ 2023–24 season was dismal as they were relegated to the Championship following just one season in the Premier League.

In spite of this, Kompany still has a significant opportunity ahead of him as the new manager of Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich has been officially confirmed.

Naturally, this means that Burnley must now recruit someone to take over as manager of the first team at Turf Moor in place of the Belgian.

Since Kompany’s relocation to Germany was planned for some time before it was official, a number of names have already been mentioned as potential successors in Lancashire.

In light of this, we’ve looked at the most recent information regarding Burnley’s search for a new manager to take Komany’s place at the club, right here.

It appears that Burnley may be able to replace Kompany through internal promotion, giving Craig Bellamy the management position.

Previously serving as one of Kompany’s assistants at Turf Moor, he is currently in temporary command of the first team while they look for a long-term replacement, who may be the Welshman himself.

Journalist Alan Nixon has said that the club’s owner, Alan Pace, is a fan of both Frank Lampard and Scott Parker and would prefer to hire a well-known figure to take over as manager.

On the other hand, it’s said that Bellamy’s backers at Turf Moor have shown a great desire for him to be cast in the part and are putting in a lot of effort to make that happen.

Now that Burnley is back in the Championship, it appears they may think about raiding two teams they will face the following season in an attempt to get Kompany’s replacement.

The Athletic reports that the Clarets are fans of both Marti Cifuentes at QPR and Carlos Corberan, the manager of West Brom, raising the possibility that they could be available.

Corberan led the Baggies to fifth place in the standings this season, but ultimately, Southampton emerged victorious in the semi-finals, having previously led Huddersfield to the Championship play-off final.

When Cifuentes came over QPR earlier this season, the team appeared to be headed for relegation to League One. However, under the Spaniard’s impressive form turnaround, QPR was able to clinch their safety with surprising ease.

It was claimed earlier this week that Burnley had spoken with Alan Pardew regarding taking charge at Turf Moor.

The former manager of West Brom, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace has been out of a job in English football for the past six years. But as things are, it doesn’t appear that a move to Burnley will change that.

TalkSport questioned Pardew on whether he would take over as manager of Burnley, and he said that it “obviously” won’t be him because there hasn’t been an official announcement.

Nevertheless, the 62-year-old said that he would be “open to it” if the chance arose because he wants to “take a team back to the Premier League” and because he likes Burnley’s roster and ownership structure.
