Done Deal

A former attacker for Albion, claimed that he had met Hansi Flick, the Barcelona manager, in Brighton before being signed to the Nou Camp.

After Xavi, the club legend, was fired from Barcelona last month, Flick was officially named the new manager.

“I had the opportunity to meet him in Brighton, he came one day to visit the club, I was able to meet him, greet him and shake his hand,” said Fati, who returned to Spain following his fruitless season-long loan in the Premier League with Brighton.

“I wish you all the best,” Fati continued in reference to his Barcelona assignment. He joins the world’s greatest club, and I have no doubt that he will succeed there.

In the previous season, Fati, 21, made just three Premier League starts for Brighton and finished with four goals and one assist across all competitions.

Though there are still rumors of another loan transfer to Sevilla, Fati claims he is eager to give Barcelona another go under Flick. “I have a clear plan. To Mundo Deportivo, he declared, “I want to succeed at Barcelona.”

Roberto De Zerbi, the Albion manager at the time, occasionally criticized Fati for not living up to expectations at Brighton, saying, “He (Fati) is working very well, but from him I have different expectations.” I still feel the same way about Ansu Fati. For his age, he possesses some of the greatest talents in the world.

It is our duty to assist him in being in better physical and performing shape. To strengthen his mentality, as playing in the Premier League requires both mental and physical toughness. Only then will we be prepared to start him in the starting lineup. He needs to show us the proper conditions before I can be satisfied.
