WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces have seen success this season, but as defending champions, they’ve also dealt with rare struggles. The Aces are 5-4 on the year, currently ranked as the No. 3 team in the Western Conference Standings.
Despite the ups and downs from the 2024 season, Wilson has clearly established herself as the most dominant player in the WNBA. Wilson is currently averaging 28.0 points and 12.3 rebounds, leading the league in both categories.
The spotlight may be on the rookie class with Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and others, but it’s also been able to shine a light on Wilson’s skill set.
She continues to draw new fans and attention to the league, displaying her elite talent on a nightly basis.
One of those fans seems to be USC Trojans guard JuJu Watkins.
Watkins was in attendance for the Aces’ recent 96-93 upset loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. The college superstar is getting a chance to meet the league’s best, while many view the incoming sophomore as the best women’s basketball player in the NCAA.
During her freshman season, Wilson posted averages of 27.1 points and 7.3 rebounds.
There’s widespread belief that she’s the next face of the NCAA, with Clark preparing for the professional atmosphere.
Wilson and Watkins had the chance to share a short embrace after the Aces-Sparks game. WNBA fans may have just witnessed an interaction between two women’s basketball legends when it’s all said and done.
