Great News for CELTIC FC

We are happy to inform that, following the signing of Hibernian midfielder Shannon McGregor, preparations for the 2024–25 season are well under way.

The 24-year-old signs a three-year contract at Paradise to join the Hoops from rival SWPL team Hibernian.

The central midfielder, who originally joined from Aberdeen, leaves the city after seven years to join Glasgow.

McGregor, a lifelong Celtic supporter, had a prosperous tenure at Hibernian, winning two League Cups and a Scottish Cup.

The newest player to join Elena Sadiku’s team has already played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with the Edinburgh team, where she also shared the field with current Celtics players Amy Gallacher and Colette Cavanagh.

In addition to her club experience, McGregor has 12 international caps for Scotland’s under-19 squad at the juvenile level.

Head coach Elena Sadiku reacted to the announcement with excitement, saying, “I’m really excited to have Shannon onboard for the next couple of years.”

“She has the right mindset to contribute and help the team achieve more success. She’s the right player in terms of her player quality.”

We at Celtic are happy to have Shannon join us here in Paradise, and we can’t wait to watch her play for the Hoops next season.
